Kim Barbero is the CEO of the Mechanical Contractors Association of BC (MCABC), the dedicated provincial representative for the construction industry’s 10 core trades. Stewarding the progression of a diverse, skilled and innovative industry, Kim works with member companies to raise awareness of the career pathways and to advocate for and drive advancements in the Industrial, Commercial, Institutional and Residential sectors.
Proponents of sustainability, MCABC is focused on the importance and benefits of green careers and the positive impact the mechanical contracting industry has on the delivery of clean water, clean air and comfort for all British Columbians. Kim, BC Business Magazine’s 2023 Women of the Year Awards winner in the Leader category, joined MCABC in 2019, bringing more than 20 years of experience in global and local, public, private and not-for-profit entities. Working in close collaboration with the MCABC Board of Directors, she immediately led an initiative that would re-imagine and modernize what was then a 115-year-old organization. Kim is a journalism graduate and an accredited business communicator who is passionate about transformational change and showcasing just how fulfilling and rewarding careers in the mechanical contracting industry are and the transferable skills most needed by employers today.
