Presenter of Breakout Session 2 - AI’s Impact on the Recruitment Process

Laura has been in the field of People & Culture since 2018, with full cycle HR experience working in both unionized and non-unionized environments across the corporate and non-profit sectors in Canada and the United States.

With formal education in psychology, criminology, and human resource management, Laura was originally drawn to the HR field due to the opportunity of playing a critical role in the continual improvement of an organization. As a collaborative leader and partner, and employing a holistic approach to People & Culture, Laura places a distinct focus on aligning employee growth with larger organizational goals, while also cultivating trust, building meaningful relationships, and ensuring employee safety and well-being in all her work.

Being part of a blended multi-cultural family and as an ever-evolving feminist, Laura is committed to life-long learning of intersecting socio-economic issues and facilitating the role of People & Culture through an equity, diversity and inclusion lens. Laura is elated to be contributing to MOSAIC’s vision of continuing to advance inclusivity in Canada and the mission of furthering the success and sense of belonging for immigrants and newcomers to Canada. Laura firmly believes it is not solely the responsibility of newcomers, or those with immigrant backgrounds, to support these initiatives; it is also the responsibility of settlers to be a part of the support structures to continue building an inclusive and accessible Canada.

Outside of work, Laura is an avid sports fan, reader, traveler, and Broadway enthusiast who loves spending quality time with her family and friends.
