Maria Poe is a dedicated and purpose-driven advocate in the field of Career Development, bringing over 25 years of meaningful experience, over 10 years of those in Canada, across diverse roles including Case Manager, Job Developer, and Community Engagement Specialist.
She is a Certified Career Development Practitioner through Simon Fraser University and currently serves as Employer Relations Coordinator at MOSAIC.
In her current role, Maria builds and nurtures strategic relationships with employers across sectors to support inclusive hiring practices, advance organizational goals, and respond to the evolving needs of employment programs while also engaging with community partners and leading outreach initiatives that build awareness, access, and collaboration.
Maria’s career has also spanned international roles, including serving as National Training and Sales Manager for a global distribution company representing marquee brands such as Nike and Shiseido in the Philippines and neighboring Asian countries, as well as Curriculum Director for a professional development centre.
As an immigrant to Canada herself, Maria brings a unique perspective to her work. She deeply understands the challenges newcomers face in the labour market and draws on her own lived experience, as well as her background in recruitment, to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers. Her approach is grounded in empathy, practicality, and a firm belief in the potential of every individual.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys volunteering for community initiatives and being immersed in nature, whether hiking, kayaking, or traveling. She’s also an avid and adventurous home cook, but her greatest joy comes from spending time with her grandchildren and family.
