Yuan Shi is an investor, academic, and engineer based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She serves as a General Partner at NYA Ventures, managing early-stage funds that target deep-tech, climate-tech, agriculture, food, and life sciences. Alongside her venture capital work, she is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, teaching entrepreneurial finance, innovation, and venture capital.
Her career spans engineering, corporate operations, and finance. She previously worked as a professional environmental engineer, handled global mergers and acquisitions, and managed business programs at Tesla. Her contributions to the sustainability sector earned her the 2023 Climate/Cleantech Investor of the Year award in British Columbia. Active in her local community, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
